Vuzix Showcases Optical Interconnect Platform for AI Data Centers
Vuzix Corporation is demonstrating its Vuzix Causeway™ optical interconnect evaluation platform at the OCP Global Summit and PECC Summit, aiming to enhance AI data center capabilities.

Rochester, NY – Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), a provider of smart glasses and advanced optical components, announced its participation in the 2026 OCP Global Summit and PECC Summit. The company will showcase its Vuzix Causeway™ waveguide optical interconnect evaluation platform, seeking to engage with AI data center, semiconductor, and photonics companies.
The Vuzix Causeway platform utilizes proprietary waveguide technology to route thousands of parallel optical pathways through a compact substrate. This offers a new approach for high-density optical connectivity essential for co-packaged optics (CPO) and AI computing applications. The current evaluation platform has demonstrated the capacity for 19,200 parallel optical pathways over an approximately 30 mm optical path.
Vuzix is making Causeway evaluation units available to qualified industry partners to assess optical performance, loss, crosstalk, and channel density. This initiative aims to inform potential custom optical designs and future manufacturing opportunities, leveraging Vuzix's existing waveguide design and U.S.-based production capabilities.
"AI infrastructure needs to move more data with greater efficiency and density. Vuzix Causeway gives industry partners a practical platform to evaluate waveguide-based optical routing for those requirements," said Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix. "We bring nearly two decades of waveguide development, custom optical design, and high-precision nanoimprint replication to this opportunity."
