VVO Kodit to Convert Office Building to Rental Apartments in Helsinki's Kamppi
VVO Kodit Oy is converting the Eliaksentalo office building in Helsinki's Kamppi district into 41 rental apartments and commercial spaces. The renovation project will begin in November 2016 and is expected to be completed in December 2017.
Helsinki – VVO Kodit Oy will begin converting the Eliaksentalo office building, located at Lönnrotinkatu 30, into rental apartments and commercial spaces in November 2016. MM-Yritysrakentaja Oy has been selected as the contractor for the project.
The property, centrally located in the Kamppi district, will feature 41 private, high-quality Lumo rental apartments. The average floor area per apartment will be 53.6 square meters. Additionally, two street-level commercial units will be created.
The building offers excellent public transport connections. Residents will also have access to a car-sharing vehicle with a designated space in the building's indoor parking garage. Other shared facilities include a sauna, laundry room, bicycle storage, and a common room. The construction work is scheduled for completion in December 2017.
VVO Kodit has previously undertaken similar conversion projects. In the autumn of 2015, the transformation of the Kotkankatu 9 property in Helsinki's Alppila district from a commercial building to residential use was completed. Project Manager Anna Ritonummi from VVO Group stated that renovating existing buildings allows for the integration of modern technology with the charm of historic structures.
