Waaree Renewable Technologies Signs Agreement to Enter Australia and New Zealand Markets
Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has signed an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) agreement for a utility-scale solar project with battery storage in New Zealand. This marks the Indian company's strategic entry into the Australia and New Zealand renewable energy market.

Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL), an Indian Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm specializing in renewable energy, has signed an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) agreement to develop a utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in New Zealand. This agreement signals WRTL's strategic entry into the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) renewable energy market.
The project, expected to be one of New Zealand's largest solar energy installations upon completion, aims to support the country's transition to a cleaner energy mix. It is intended to enhance grid reliability and energy resilience. WRTL will undertake the project in a consortium with two experienced local companies, with WRTL leading the solar supply and engineering aspects.
This ECI agreement represents a significant step in WRTL's international growth strategy. The company intends to combine its EPC expertise and project execution capabilities with the market knowledge of local partners. Upon completion of the ECI work, the client may proceed with signing a full EPC contract for the project with the consortium.
The ANZ region is identified as an attractive destination for renewable energy investments due to its decarbonization targets and growing electricity demand. WRTL's expansion into this market aligns with its goal of becoming a globally recognized renewable energy solutions provider and contributing to the energy transition in developed economies.
