Wacker is showcasing two new liquid silicone rubber grades at the FAKUMA 2026 trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The new products, ELASTOSIL® LR 5471 and ELASTOSIL® LR 3822, are engineered to meet the demands of food contact, healthcare, and electric vehicle manufacturing.
ELASTOSIL® LR 5471 is a self-adhesive, tear-resistant silicone rubber that does not require post-curing. Its applications include food contact uses, such as kitchenware and baking molds, as well as medical applications. The material is suitable for producing hard/soft composite parts and adheres well to metals and thermoplastics.
ELASTOSIL® LR 3822, on the other hand, is an oil-exuding and coolant-resistant silicone. It has been developed specifically for seals in the cooling circuits of electric vehicle traction batteries. Wacker is also displaying additives and processing aids under its GENIOPLAST® and GENIOPERL® product lines.
Several exhibitors at the FAKUMA fair, including Kracht, Babyplast Christmann, and ELMET Elastomere, are using Wacker's liquid silicone rubbers in their products. Wacker aims to demonstrate how innovative silicones can help reduce production costs without compromising quality.
Wacker's booth at FAKUMA 2026 is located in Hall A6, Booth 6212. The trade fair runs from October 12 to 16.
