Walmart Enhances Online Shopping with AI and Faster Delivery
Walmart is leveraging artificial intelligence and expanding its rapid delivery services to improve the online shopping experience. The company reported significant growth in its e-commerce and marketplace sales.

Walmart is aiming to transform its online retail operations by focusing on high-speed delivery, artificial intelligence (AI) investments, and affordable fashion. CEO David Guggina outlined the strategy on Wednesday at the Fast Company Innovation Festival.
The company's objective is to help people live better lives through "assortment, price and experience," prioritizing convenience and affordability. Walmart's delivery service can reach 96% of U.S. households within three hours or less, and 60% within 30 minutes, utilizing its network of 3,569 supercenters across the United States.
Last year, Walmart introduced Sparky, an AI assistant that allows customers to find products through conversational descriptions and even photo analysis. Guggina noted that this feature has increased the average online order value by 40%. The Walmart Marketplace also saw 52% growth in the second quarter, contributing to a 23% rise in global e-commerce sales during the same period.
Additionally, Walmart launched Scenario, a new women's fashion brand featuring items primarily under $25. The company is investing in advanced robotics and modernized software to increase capacity and speed up its supply chain, aiming to solidify its position as a preferred choice for consumers.
