Walmart recalls Great Value fruit cocktail citing lead contamination risk
The FDA has announced a recall of Great Value canned fruit cocktail sold at Walmart stores across seven U.S. states due to potential lead contamination.

Manufacturer Pacific Coast Producers has initiated a voluntary recall of 1,836 cases of Great Value Fruit Cocktail. The affected 15-ounce cans, which bear lot number 6FCB 04 C2263 and a 'best if used by' date of September 1, 2027, were distributed to Walmart locations in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wyoming.
The FDA classified the action as a Class II recall, indicating that the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. While the company began the process on October 1, the public announcement followed nearly three weeks later via the agency's enforcement report.
Lead exposure carries significant health risks, including abdominal pain, nausea, and neurological developmental issues in children. Consumers possessing the identified product are advised to discard the cans or return them to the point of purchase.
