Walmart to Accept Apple Pay and Google Pay
Walmart announced on Friday it will begin accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment methods. The rollout will be gradual.

Walmart will start accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay in select locations on August 24th, the company announced Friday. The rollout of the payment methods in Walmart and Sam's Club stores will continue, with all U.S. locations expected to support them by the end of 2026.
Integration at gas stations is planned for mid-2027. This move represents a significant step in the company's payment options, as Walmart was long one of the few major retailers not to support common mobile payment services.
The company previously backed the now-defunct CurrentC payment service. In 2016, Walmart launched its own Walmart Pay solution, which utilizes QR codes at checkout.
The change is expected to improve the customer experience and speed up checkout by offering shoppers more payment flexibility.
