Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 receives free anniversary update

Publisher Focus Entertainment has launched a free anniversary update for the video game Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. The update brings a new game mode, enhanced character progression mechanics, new weapons, and armor.

The update's main addition is the "Chaos Siege" mode, where players can, for the first time, control Chaos Space Marines in a PvE setting. Players will face new enemies, including Tyranids and other factions, across two new siege zones. Additionally, a "Crucible System" has been implemented, allowing players to prove their mettle by imposing challenges on themselves during missions to unlock rewards.

The arsenal has been expanded with a new one-handed mace weapon, available for several classes. New "heroic"-tier weapons and armor have also been added, including variants of power axes and bolters. The third season pass has also been released, featuring two new downloadable content packs: a "Space Wolves Champion Pack" and an "Exorcist" cosmetic pack.

Focus Entertainment has also revealed a content roadmap for the game's third year, indicating further developments and additions.
