Technology group Wärtsilä has broadened its role in seven power plant projects for Brazilian energy company Origem Energia. In addition to previously announced engine supplies, Wärtsilä will now also be responsible for process engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities for the above-ground portions of these plants.

The expanded scope applies to two previously signed contracts, for which the equipment supply agreements were booked in the first quarter of 2026. The company states that this new agreement allows for greater responsibility in project execution and ensures a more efficient delivery to the customer.

Wärtsilä has previously supplied power plant solutions to the Brazilian market. This type of expanded service offering strengthens the company's position as an energy sector provider capable of delivering comprehensive solutions across various project lifecycle stages.

Further details on the projects and prior agreements are available on Wärtsilä's website. The company aims to bolster its global standing by providing flexible and reliable energy solutions to its clients.
