The Washington Trust Company has announced plans to open its 30th full-service branch at 590 Metacom Ave. in Bristol, Rhode Island, later this year. This expansion represents the bank's ongoing growth across the state, establishing a new presence in the East Bay region.
The new Bristol branch aims to provide local decision-making, personalized service, and financial guidance to customers in East Bay and southeastern Massachusetts. The branch will offer a comprehensive suite of financial services, including personal and business banking, mortgage and home equity lending, commercial banking solutions, and wealth management and trust services.
Washington Trust, founded in 1800, highlights its historical connection to the region. Chairman and CEO Ned Handy expressed enthusiasm about bringing the bank's capabilities to Bristol.
