Energy company Fortum reports that water levels in several lakes and waterways along the Dalälven river have stabilized in recent days, with decreasing flows observed.
While new precipitation is forecast for the week, it is not expected to significantly raise water levels. Fortum notes that forecasts are based on current data, and heavier rainfall could alter the situation.
Specific observations have been made across the system. In Trängslet on the Österdalälven, water discharge has begun to decrease. Avesta and Håvran have reached their peak water levels and are now experiencing declines. Lake Runn peaked on Monday and is currently receding by approximately 5 cm per day.
The water level of Lake Siljan is expected to continue its slow rise until the end of the week before beginning to fall next week. The Västerdalälven river is showing a steady decline, a trend expected to continue despite the anticipated rainfall.
Fortum continues to closely monitor conditions along the Dalälven and its tributaries, urging the public to remain vigilant for any environmental changes.
