WATER Robotics Raises $2.5 Million for Robotic Bed Development

AI startup WATER Robotics has secured $2.5 million (approximately ₹24 crore) in a funding round led by Endiya Partners, with participation from notable investors including national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and co-founders of Darwinbox and Swiggy.
The Hyderabad-based company plans to allocate the majority of the new capital to enhance its research and development capabilities, with a portion dedicated to data collection, according to founder and CEO Teja Vinukollu.
WATER Robotics' flagship product is CAMA, a robotic bed that uses 10,752 pressure sensors and 42 actuators to sense a person's body and adjust its surface in real time. The bed is built on a foundational model called VORTEX, designed to perceive, understand, and respond to the human body.
The startup's broader ambition is to create a "Physical OS" for furniture and other surfaces that can sense, understand, and respond to humans, positioning itself in a growing market for physical AI applications in India.
This development aligns with the projected growth of the Indian robotics market, which is expected to exceed $7 billion by 2034, driven by increasing enterprise and consumer adoption, as well as government initiatives promoting domestic manufacturing and digital transformation.
