Waytek Appoints Tony Harris as Board Chairman Effective 2027
Waytek has named board advisor Tony Harris as its next Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2027. He succeeds Charlie Kanan, who will retire after 14 years of leadership.
Minnesota-based automotive component distributor Waytek announced that Tony Harris will assume the role of Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2027. Harris, who has served as a board advisor to the company since 2015, replaces long-time Chairman Charlie Kanan.
Kanan is set to retire on December 31, 2026, following a 14-year tenure. Upon his retirement, he will be named Chairman Emeritus and will continue to provide counsel to the company in an advisory capacity. The transition is part of a planned succession strategy within the family-owned business.
Harris, founder of the growth advisory firm THINC B2B and former Chief Marketing Officer at Digi-Key Electronics, brings expertise in B2B distribution and digital transformation. His appointment is expected to help the company navigate its next phase of growth by focusing on technological integration and operational scalability.
