WB GROUP and Optix Sign Defense Technology Cooperation Deal

Polish defense technology company WB GROUP and its Bulgarian counterpart Optix have formalized a strategic teaming agreement focused on technology transfer for key military systems. The pact aims to enhance industrial cooperation between the two nations.

The agreement specifically covers WB GROUP's FONET communications platform, the TOPAZ command-and-fire-control system for artillery, and COMP@N tactical radios. This collaboration is designed to facilitate the production, integration, and in-service support of these systems within Bulgaria, with a particular emphasis on artillery applications.

Under the terms of the agreement, Optix is set to become Bulgaria's dedicated center for assembly, installation, configuration, and after-sales support of the specified WB GROUP technologies. The Polish company will provide Optix with necessary technical documentation, equipment, and specialized training to establish these local capabilities.

The signing ceremony took place in Warsaw, with WB GROUP President Piotr Wojciechowski and Optix Chairman Petar Cholakov executing the document. The event was attended by Bulgaria's Deputy Minister of Economy, Michaela Karadimova. This cooperation is expected to expand Bulgaria's industrial capacity, bolster supply chain security, and deepen bilateral defense technology ties. The agreement was concluded during the official visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev to Poland.
