WDIV Local 4 Opens Newsroom and Coffee Shop in Plymouth
Detroit's NBC affiliate, WDIV Local 4, has launched its "Fourgrounds" concept, a hybrid coffee shop and working newsroom in downtown Plymouth. The initiative aims to enhance local news engagement.

WDIV Local 4, Detroit's NBC affiliate, has opened Fourgrounds, a pioneering coffee shop and satellite newsroom in downtown Plymouth, Michigan. The new concept aims to foster deeper community connections through hyperlocal news coverage.
The venue, located at 995 W. Ann Arbor Trail, welcomed the public on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. It is designed to bring local journalism more directly to residents of Plymouth and surrounding Western Wayne County communities.
Fourgrounds operates as a full-service coffee shop, featuring locally roasted beans from Detroit-based Great Lakes Coffee, while simultaneously functioning as an active news hub for WDIV Local 4. This setup facilitates a permanent, on-the-ground presence for the station's journalists. Stephanie Slagle, General Manager of WDIV Local 4, stated the space allows reporters to build trust and gather stories directly from community members.
Residents are encouraged to visit Fourgrounds to share stories they believe warrant coverage. The establishment represents WDIV Local 4's commitment to integrating journalism into the daily fabric of the communities it serves, providing a physical space for dialogue and story development.
