WeChat's HarmonyOS version has been updated to support A2A capabilities, allowing users to send messages via voice commands using the Xiaoyi assistant. The feature currently only supports messages to individual contacts.

WeChat's version for HarmonyOS has received an update enabling users to send messages using voice commands through the Xiaoyi virtual assistant, according to Chinese tech outlet IT Home. This new A2A (App-to-App) capability integrates voice control for messaging functions.

The update allows users to instruct Xiaoyi to send text messages to their contacts. However, the functionality is currently limited to one-on-one conversations and does not support sending messages to group chats. Users can also initiate voice or video calls to contacts via voice commands.

This feature requires the Xiaoyi assistant to be updated to version 11.7.8.303. The integration signifies a deeper level of interaction between the operating system's assistant and a widely used application within the Chinese market.

It remains to be seen if this functionality will be expanded to include group messages or made available on other versions of WeChat. The update focuses on enhancing user convenience through voice control on the HarmonyOS platform.
