Users will now find features such as the option to convert collected chat messages into notes. The app also supports using videos or GIFs, up to 15 seconds long, as background statuses. Custom ringtone settings and the ability to edit posts after they have been sent are among other new functionalities.
The update also introduces improvements to sharing and viewing videos and images, with options to collect content from long-press actions. Search functions have been expanded to include voice search, image-based search, and attachment search. Additionally, an AI assistant, "Xiao Wei" (beta), and an AI music creation model are being integrated.
Other significant updates include support for automatic message translation, an improved function for sharing to 'Moments', and keyboard shortcut support for message sending on tablets when a physical keyboard is connected. WeChat's payment service has also added an account deactivation feature.
