Wecom Fiber has marked the completion of its broadband network project in the town of Parker, Arizona. The multi-year initiative, undertaken with the Arizona Commerce Authority and local partners, will deliver high-speed internet to an estimated 15,000 homes and businesses, along with 124 community anchor institutions such as schools and public safety facilities.
The project, which included a $10 million grant from the Arizona Broadband Development Program, represents a total investment of $45 million, with Wecom Fiber contributing $35 million. The build-out spans Mohave and La Paz counties, with Parker serving as the final segment.
This expansion aims to address connectivity gaps in areas that previously had limited or no access to reliable internet services. Officials highlighted the project's role in unlocking economic opportunities and enhancing the long-term competitiveness of the region.
Wecom Fiber has also indicated its position as the largest recipient of Arizona's BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) program funds, with plans to extend its network across eight additional counties in the state.
