Weifang, Shandong – An international media tour recently convened in Weifang, Shandong province, focusing on the city's rich historical and cultural heritage. Journalists from South Korea, Pakistan, Morocco, and the Arabian Peninsula attended the "2026 Weifang Chen Jieqi Stone and Seal Culture Week," which centered on Chinese epigraphy and the history of seals.

During the event, 2,523 items were donated to the Chen Jieqi Stone and Seal Museum by 14 collectors and institutions, both domestic and international. This brings the museum's collection of ancient seal stones to a total of 4,000 pieces. The exhibition also featured 1,000 seal-carving works from 19 countries and regions, fostering international cultural exchange.

Five academic institutions entered into strategic cooperation agreements with the museum. Additionally, a cloud-based database was launched, enabling remote access for the study of ancient scripts. The China-Japan-South Korea Center for Stone and Seal Carving Exchange and Mutual Learning, established in 2022, continued to serve as an institutionalized international platform.

Weifang, recently recognized as a national historical and cultural city, also showcased other traditions at the Weifang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, including nut carving, New Year paintings, and paper cutting. The city is also globally recognized for its unique kites, which have been designated as national intangible cultural heritage since 2006.

Furthermore, Weifang has preserved several historical buildings, and the former site of an internment camp for Westerners now functions as a museum promoting peace. The city aims to present its unique cultural and historical value to the world.
