WHEELING, W.Va. – WesBanco, Inc. reported its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026. The bank holding company posted net income available to common shareholders of $88.4 million, or $0.91 per diluted share. This compares to $54.9 million, or $0.57 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2025.
For the six-month period ended June 30, 2026, net income was $172.8 million, or $1.79 per diluted share, compared to $43.4 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, for the 2025 period. Excluding certain expenses, the adjusted diluted earnings per share for the second quarter of 2026 was $0.92.
WesBanco experienced annualized loan growth of 8.3% quarter-over-quarter and 3.5% year-over-year. Despite higher commercial real estate (CRE) payoffs of approximately $345 million impacting year-over-year growth, organic expansion across all markets offset this. The commercial loan pipeline reached a record $2.3 billion as of June 30, 2026.
The bank's net interest margin increased by 4 basis points to 3.63%, primarily due to lower funding costs and asset repricing. The efficiency ratio improved by over one percentage point year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter to a record low of 51.2%. WesBanco also highlighted its organic growth strategy and commercial momentum in expansion markets, including Northern Virginia, Tennessee, and South Florida.
