West Bend Implements Guidewire Cloud for AI-Driven Claims
West Bend Insurance Company has successfully transitioned its claims operations to Guidewire Cloud. This move aims to enhance service quality and establish a data foundation for artificial intelligence.
West Bend Insurance Company and Guidewire announced that West Bend is now operating its claims functions on Guidewire Cloud. This implementation is intended to improve service quality and decision-making across all lines of business, while also establishing a reliable data foundation for scaling artificial intelligence (AI) within West Bend's claims operations.
Murali Natarajan, senior vice president and chief information officer at West Bend, stated, "Connecting our reliable data directly to live workflows is what makes AI in claims management possible." He added that by embedding analytics into the daily workflow, the company can improve indemnity accuracy and deliver optimized claims service to policyholders, creating a system that learns from each closed claim.
Guidewire noted that West Bend is demonstrating how insurers can leverage a solid data foundation and Guidewire as a base for AI and agentic claims. Ernst & Young LLP (EY) led the implementation project.
The move positions West Bend to shift from reactive claims handling to a proactive, data-driven strategy. The company has over 130 years of experience providing insurance solutions for home, auto, and business.
