West Virginia American Water Treatment Plant Earns National Recognition
West Virginia American Water's Ada water treatment plant in Bluefield has been awarded the 25-year Directors Award, recognizing its commitment to providing high-quality drinking water.

West Virginia American Water's Ada Water Treatment Plant in Bluefield, West Virginia, has received the 25-year Directors Award from the Partnership for Safe Water. This prestigious award acknowledges the plant's exceptional dedication to providing high-quality drinking water and its long-standing commitment to enhancing water quality.
The Partnership for Safe Water is a voluntary collaborative effort involving drinking water organizations that work to improve the performance of treatment plants and ensure compliance with national and local standards. The recognition is significant, as only a small fraction of surface water treatment plants across the United States participate in this program.
Administered by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the award highlights the continuous optimization of treatment plant operations and distribution systems. Scott Wyman, President of West Virginia American Water, stated that the company is proud to be recognized for its commitment to delivering safe and reliable drinking water. "When Bluefield residents turn on the tap, they can trust that their water meets or surpasses all drinking water standards," Wyman said.
Jon Jarvis, West Virginia American Water's Senior Manager of Water Quality and Environmental Compliance, also commended the team's efforts. "This award reflects the great work and dedication of our team in Bluefield," Jarvis stated, adding that it is a testament to the ongoing commitment to improving systems and providing customers with the quality water they deserve. The company also participates in the Partnership for Clean Water program.
