What's Missed in the Rush to Adopt AI

Companies are making substantial investments in artificial intelligence (AI), acquiring new platforms, automations, and promising productivity gains. However, experts caution against a common pitfall: assuming that technological advancement alone enhances organizational capability.

Investing in the most sophisticated AI does not inherently guarantee the creation of significant value. AI transformation is a multi-stage process requiring the simultaneous development of three distinct capacities: Technological Capacity, Human Capacity, and Governance Capacity.

Technological Capacity refers to what the AI system can perform. Human Capacity, conversely, defines what individuals can achieve with AI. Governance Capacity concerns what it is acceptable and appropriate to ask AI to do.

Organizations that develop all three areas balancedly build a stronger foundation for AI utilization. Overemphasizing one area can create bottlenecks and hinder the realization of comprehensive benefits.
