Winbond reports 278% revenue growth and approves 71B TWD factory expansion
Taiwan-based memory manufacturer Winbond recorded a significant revenue surge in Q3 2026 and committed to a massive capital expenditure project in Kaohsiung to increase production capacity.

Winbond Electronics reported a third-quarter revenue of 82.33 billion TWD, representing a 278.2% increase year-over-year. The company’s net profit reached 35.42 billion TWD with a gross margin of 70.6%. Tailored memory solutions accounted for 58% of total revenue, reflecting the company’s focus on specialized industrial and automotive applications.
As the world's largest manufacturer of NOR flash memory and a leading provider of SLC NAND, Winbond maintains a bullish outlook on pricing. The company expects flash memory prices to remain on an upward trajectory, while DRAM prices are projected to hold steady, supported by strong demand in the communications and industrial sectors.
In a strategic move to address long-term capacity requirements, Winbond has approved a 71.36 billion TWD investment to expand its 12-inch wafer fabrication facility in the Kaohsiung Science Park. The construction is scheduled to begin in December 2026. The new capacity is expected to initiate small-scale production by 2029, with full-scale operations targeted for 2030.
