Wipfli, a national advisory and accounting firm, mobilized 660 associates across the United States for its 22nd annual Community Day on September 24. The associates contributed a total of 2,298 volunteer hours to 64 non-profit organizations, focusing on community service and charitable giving.
The initiative aimed to strengthen local communities and demonstrate the firm's commitment to making an impact beyond its professional services. Activities included packing meals for food banks, participating in home-building projects with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, and supporting various community programs that address pressing local needs.
"What makes Community Day special isn't the projects we complete," said Wipfli CEO Kurt Gresens. "It's seeing our people step away from their daily work and invest their time, energy and heart into the communities they call home." Associates shared rewarding experiences, such as supporting over 500 families through the Northern Illinois Food Bank and contributing to affordable housing efforts.
Beyond the single day of service, Wipfli's commitment extends through the Wipfli Foundation's Community Support Program. This program allows associates to direct charitable giving credits to eligible non-profits. The Foundation anticipates contributing over $106,000 this year to further support causes important to the associates and their communities.
