Wistron Opens First Smart Factory in the United States
Wistron Corporation has officially opened its D1 AI Smart Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The facility is the company's first in the U.S. and will manufacture NVIDIA's AI-related products.
Wistron Corporation celebrated the official opening of its D1 AI Smart Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 22, 2026. This marks a significant milestone in the company's global smart manufacturing strategy, representing its first facility in the United States.
The 324,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing center, representing a $700 million investment, is designed to produce critical AI components. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin stated during the opening ceremony that the facility will manufacture NVIDIA's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra superchip and the upcoming Vera Rubin superchip. "We believe this location will become one of the most important as we build out AI infrastructure here in the United States," Lin commented, highlighting Texas as a key hub.
The plant leverages NVIDIA's accelerated computing technology and integrates digital twin models to optimize factory design and production workflows. It serves as a key node in Wistron's global network for AI infrastructure manufacturing, aimed at serving local customers with advanced products.
Attendees at the opening included NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who underscored the importance of the facility for domestic AI manufacturing. Also present were public officials such as Jessica Rogers, Director of Economic Development for Fort Worth, and Alexander Tah-ray Yui, Taiwan's Representative to the United States, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the project.
