Wistron Opens First US Semiconductor Plant in Texas
Wistron has launched its first United States semiconductor manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The $700 million investment will produce NVIDIA's advanced AI chips.

Electronics manufacturer Wistron has inaugurated its first semiconductor manufacturing plant in the United States, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The facility represents a $700 million investment and will focus on producing NVIDIA's latest AI chips, including the GB300 and Vera Rubin Superchip.
The plant, spanning approximately 30,100 square meters, will be responsible for manufacturing NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin Superchip products. Wistron stated that the investment has already created over 500 new jobs in Texas, with plans to increase the workforce to 1,000 by the end of the year. Roles will cover construction, manufacturing, and electrical work.
This initiative is part of NVIDIA's commitment to fostering advanced manufacturing within the U.S. Wistron's Fort Worth facility is designated as a key project to realize this pledge. The company utilized NVIDIA's open platforms to build a digital twin and complete simulations of the entire factory process before commencing operations.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has described systems built around the GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip as the world's most powerful AI supercomputers. The production of a single such system involves approximately 1.5 million parts and weighs two tons.
