Withings Now Charges $100 Annually for Data Sync to Other Apps
Fitness device maker Withings is introducing a subscription fee for new users to sync health data to third-party applications.

Withings, known for its fitness-tracking smartwatches and smart scales, has introduced a new subscription service that requires new users to pay to sync their health data to third-party applications like Apple Health and Google Health.
Beginning October 13, 2026, new Withings accounts will require a Withings Plus subscription to utilize the "automatic sync to third-party apps" feature. The subscription costs $9.95 per month or $99.50 per year. The company is offering a one-month free trial for new users, which includes the data syncing capability.
This change primarily affects new customers who wish to integrate data collected from their Withings devices with other health and fitness applications. Previously, this feature was available at no cost.
The introduction of the subscription comes as many technology companies seek new revenue streams beyond hardware sales. The subscription model may offer a more stable cash flow for the company, but could also face criticism from users accustomed to free services.
