X Introduces "X Numbers" to Replace Phone Numbers

Elon Musk's X platform, formerly Twitter, has introduced a new feature named "X Numbers." This new offering aims to provide an alternative to traditional phone numbers for messaging and calling within the platform. Users can now share their X Numbers with others without needing to reveal their actual phone numbers or X usernames.

The X Numbers feature is part of Musk's broader vision to transform X into an "app for everything," encompassing messaging, shopping, calling, and more. The new functionality allows users to receive messages and calls even from individuals they do not follow on the platform. According to the platform, X Numbers is an optional feature, and enabling it does not affect how other users see an account when messaging.
