X Product Lead Nikita Bier Steps Down
Nikita Bier has resigned as the head of product for X after approximately 400 days in the role. He will continue with the company as an advisor.

Nikita Bier announced on X that he is stepping down as the platform's head of product, transitioning to an advisor role. Bier was appointed by Elon Musk in July 2025 to lead product development, a position he held for about 400 days.
During Bier's tenure, the X application saw growth in user numbers and engagement, with its ranking in the App Store improving by 70 positions year-over-year. His responsibilities included driving updates to the timeline, redesigning the Android application, and optimizing notification and chat features.
Bier described the role as a demanding "24/7" job and stated it was time for him to take a step back. He expressed that serving the X community was a "lifetime highlight." The product leadership responsibilities will now be divided among three individuals: Benji Taylor for design, Mridur Singhai for core product engineering, and Jonah Katz for mobile engineering.
Elon Musk acknowledged Bier's contribution, tweeting, "Thank you for helping optimize this platform, your excellent work will not be forgotten." X, formerly known as Twitter, is a social media platform.
