XAG Automates Farm Workflows Beyond Drone Operations
Chinese agricultural technology firm XAG is developing systems to automate drone charging, refilling, and servicing, aiming to reduce human intervention on farms.

Chinese agricultural technology company XAG, formerly XAircraft, is expanding its focus beyond autonomous drones to encompass comprehensive automation of farm workflows.
The company has introduced its new X Series system, which integrates X100 or X150 agricultural drones with automated charging stations (XA1) and liquid refilling equipment (LM1). The goal is to minimize manual labor when drones return from the field. The system can automatically charge the drone, refill its spraying liquid, clean the tank and pipelines, and prepare for the next flight, reducing the typical multi-minute turnaround process to approximately three minutes.
XAG's strategy extends beyond drones to include ground robotics. The company's product portfolio now features autonomous mowers, such as the RM80, alongside autopilot systems for conventional farm machinery and smart irrigation solutions. This broader automation aims to provide a complete solution for modern, labor-efficient farming needs.
XAG, which began in 2007 with various drone applications before concentrating on agriculture in 2013, has experienced growth, particularly internationally. Its products have found markets in countries like Japan, where fragmented farmland and an aging population create demand for automated solutions. Despite withdrawing its STAR Market listing application in 2022, the company has since shown financial recovery and is now pursuing a Hong Kong listing, reporting significant revenue growth and a transition from loss to profit.
