Xbox to publish Hideo Kojima's new game Physint after PlayStation cancels
Xbox will publish the upcoming game Physint from developer Hideo Kojima. Sony PlayStation had previously cancelled a collaboration for the project.
Xbox, owned by Microsoft, will publish the upcoming game Physint from acclaimed developer Hideo Kojima. The project was previously in development with Sony PlayStation, which ultimately decided to cancel its collaboration with Kojima Productions.
The shift in publisher for the creator of the Metal Gear series came after Sony described its decision to step away as difficult, while stating its relationship with Kojima Productions remains strong.
Kojima himself indicated that Sony provided the studio with notice of cancellation in June. Kojima Productions has reportedly spent the last three months seeking a new publishing partner for the game.
Physint will be the first new title released by Kojima Productions with Xbox as its publisher. The studio's previous games, Death Stranding and Death Stranding 2, were published by PlayStation.
