Chinese construction machinery manufacturer XCMG has inaugurated its first overseas new energy manufacturing base in Indonesia. The facility, situated in the Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) in North Maluku Province, began production on July 27. The plant's initial focus will be on electric construction equipment.
The establishment of the Indonesian base is part of XCMG's global expansion strategy, aiming to meet the growing demand for sustainable construction solutions in Southeast Asia. The chosen location offers strategic advantages, including access to raw materials and logistical networks.
This new facility is expected to bolster XCMG's presence in international markets and support the broader industry's shift towards cleaner technologies. The first batch of equipment produced includes several electric models designed to cater to regional market requirements.
