Xiaomi 14 Series Release Reportedly Split Into Two Phases
Reports suggest Xiaomi may release its upcoming 14 series smartphones in two distinct waves. The standard model is rumored to be delayed until early 2027.
Xiaomi might be planning a staggered release for its forthcoming Xiaomi 14 smartphone series, according to reports. Technology outlet ximitime suggests the company could launch the Pro and foldable variants in September 2026, while the standard Xiaomi 14 model's debut may be pushed to early 2027.
This potential delay is based on an analysis of device codenames and model numbers found within Xiaomi's software. The codename "venice," believed to be the standard Xiaomi 14, appeared in the code later than "madrid" and "hongkong," which are associated with the Pro models. Additionally, the numerical suffix of the "venice" model suggests it won't be ready before December 2026, indicating a possible early 2027 release.
A feature referred to as "妙享背屏" (My Smart Back Screen) is reportedly exclusive to the Pro models. Both the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro Max are expected to include this secondary display on the back, while the standard Xiaomi 14 will not.
All four models – the Xiaomi 14 Fold, Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Pro Max – are anticipated to run the upcoming 澎湃 OS 4 (Surging OS 4) and incorporate AI functionalities. They are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, with camera systems potentially including 200-megapixel sensors. Battery capacities are projected to range from approximately 6000mAh up to 8500mAh for the Pro Max variant.
