Xiaomi Auto Details "Longjia" Battery Safety Standards

Xiaomi Auto has released details regarding its "Longjia" battery technology, stating that it has been designed and developed under Xiaomi's leadership. The company highlighted that the "Longjia" battery system's primary feature is its safety standards, which significantly surpass China's national regulations.

The company explained that the "Longjia" battery exceeds national standards in several key areas. For structural safety, it requires the battery to withstand impacts exceeding the national standard's specifications, using a smaller, higher-pressure impact head and higher energy levels. Thermal safety requirements dictate that the battery pack must not exhibit thermal runaway, fire, or explosion even under extreme conditions of 55℃ and full charge, exceeding the national standard's less stringent temperature and charge level requirements.

In terms of electrical safety, the "Longjia" battery incorporates design redundancies beyond national standards and features a "millisecond-level mechanical blade" system to physically cut off high voltage within milliseconds during emergencies like short circuits or collisions. Data security is enhanced through 24-hour vehicle-cloud collaboration and AI-driven inspections, collecting data at a higher frequency than national standards to proactively monitor safety.

Furthermore, the "Longjia" battery sets higher benchmarks for cell cycle life, exceeding the national standard for capacity retention after 1000 cycles. Xiaomi Auto also detailed its stringent quality control system, which includes a "penetrating management system" with Xiaomi quality experts overseeing each module and advanced inspection techniques throughout the production process. Quality inspection data is traceable and archived for 15 years.

The company also addressed the battery's water resistance. Xiaomi Auto's "Pengcheng" series vehicles are equipped with an emergency wading mode, capable of handling certain depths of water. Depending on the model, the maximum wading depth is 650-750mm. The batteries meet IPX8 and IPX9K waterproof standards, capable of withstanding static immersion at 1 meter for 24 hours and dynamic resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, providing protection for regular wading scenarios.
