Xiaomi Auto Remodels Core Components of Range Extender Engine
Xiaomi Auto's Vice President Li Xiaoshuang announced that all seven core components of the company's range extender engine for the 澎程 vehicle series have been re-selected and re-developed.

Xiaomi Auto has revealed significant advancements in its range extender engine technology for its upcoming 澎程 series vehicles. Vice President Li Xiaoshuang stated in a social media post that all seven core components of the M15DRE range extender engine have undergone a complete re-selection and focused development process. This marks the first time Xiaomi has undertaken such a comprehensive redesign for these critical parts.
The company highlighted that this re-engineering effort encompasses nearly half of the total cost of the engine. Furthermore, 57 out of the over 200 individual components within the engine have been specifically optimized. The M15DRE engine, a collaborative effort with Harbin Dongan Automotive Power Co., Ltd., is designed for efficiency, boasting a low WLTC electric-only fuel consumption of 5.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
These developments are expected to enhance the 澎程 series vehicles' fuel economy and extend maintenance intervals. Following the initial service, the range extender will require maintenance only every three years or 30,000 kilometers. Previously announced specifications for the 澎程 series include an all-electric CLTC range of up to 505 kilometers and battery capacities up to 76 kWh.
Xiaomi Auto expressed gratitude to its partner Dong'an Automotive Power for their collaboration. Further details regarding the vehicles and their capabilities will be disclosed at their official launch event. The company aims to provide consumers with a versatile option that merges the daily convenience of electric driving with the long-distance assurance of a gasoline engine.
