Chinese technology firm Xiaomi has initiated the delivery of its "Xiaomi Pengcheng" vehicles to customers in Shanghai. Lei Jun, the company's founder and CEO, was personally present to hand over the cars to the initial 30 owners and their families.

The delivery event took place in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, historically known as Pengcheng, a name that shares phonetic similarities with the "Pengcheng" model series. Xiaomi had previously announced that deliveries would extend to 75 cities across China.

Launched on September 7th, the Pengcheng series includes four models: N70 Pro, N70 Max, N90 Max, and N90 Max Explorer Edition. The vehicles saw significant pre-order interest, with over 10,000 orders confirmed within four minutes of the launch. Pricing for the models ranges from approximately 20,990 yuan (around $2,800 USD) to nearly 30,000 yuan ($4,100 USD).

Key features across the range include substantial battery capacity and extended electric range, with the N90 Max offering a combined range of up to 1705 kilometers. The N90 Max Explorer Edition notably features a unique elevating roof mechanism, creating an additional loft-like space within the cabin that allows occupants to stand.
