Chinese technology company Xiaomi has commenced the rollout of the first wave of its new HyperOS 4 operating system's official version. This initial release encompasses select smartphone models, including the Xiaomi 17 series and Redmi K100/K90 series, as well as the Xiaomi Pad 8 tablet series.
HyperOS 4 is positioned as Xiaomi's next-generation operating system, promising comprehensive upgrades in AI capabilities, cross-device collaboration, and fundamental system fluidity. It integrates the company's self-developed MiMo large model and introduces new features such as an "expert mode" and "inspiration ball" interaction. Xiaomi states the update aims to deliver a more seamless and unified user experience.
Beyond the initial launch, Xiaomi has detailed a phased rollout plan. By the end of October, HyperOS 4 is expected to reach more smartphone and tablet models, including specific devices from the Xiaomi 17T and Redmi K90 series, and the Redmi K Pad 2. By mid-November, the update will extend to newer flagship lines like the Xiaomi 15 series and MIX Flip 2, alongside a significant portion of the Redmi K80 and K70 series devices.
The final phases of the rollout, scheduled through the end of November and December 2026, will cover older yet popular models. This includes devices such as the Xiaomi 14 and 13 series, the MIX Fold series, and various Redmi Note and K-series phones and tablets. Xiaomi's television lineup will also receive updates across different timelines.
