Xiaomi Demonstrates N90 Max Structural Resilience in Stacked Vehicle Test
Xiaomi Auto Vice President Li Xiaoshuang detailed the 'seven-car stack' test for the N90 Max, revealing its significant structural integrity. The vehicle withstood substantial weight, with deformations proving largely recoverable.

Xiaomi Auto Vice President Li Xiaoshuang has released a video detailing the 'seven-car stack' test performed by the company's N90 Max model. This test is designed to measure the durability of the vehicle's roof structure under extreme conditions, such as rollovers or heavy load impacts.
According to information provided by Li Xiaoshuang, the bottom vehicle in the stack, an N90 Max, bore a weight of 17 tons, resulting in a vertical deformation of -22 mm. After the weight was removed, the deformation recovered to a maximum of -4 mm and a minimum of -1 mm. This indicates that the car body not only withstood the pressure but the deformation was primarily elastic and recoverable.
Li Xiaoshuang further clarified that simulations and evaluations suggest the vehicle could actually withstand a stack of eight cars. However, for safety reasons and practical limitations, the test was conducted indoors using seven vehicles.
This type of industry standard testing, often called top pressure testing, evaluates a vehicle's ability to withstand overhead loads. It verifies the car body's structural integrity in protecting occupants during extreme scenarios like rollovers or when heavy objects fall on the vehicle. The N90 Max's success in this test is attributed to its use of high-strength materials, a robust body structure, and an integrated hot-formed door ring.
