Xiaomi discontinues MiMo-V2.5 models in shift to V2.6 API
Xiaomi has retired its MiMo-V2.5 AI models, migrating all API traffic to the upgraded V2.6 series.
Xiaomi officially ended support for its MiMo-V2.5 and MiMo-V2.5-Pro models on October 21 at 10 a.m. Beijing time. The company had already initiated a transition period on October 14, during which all API requests directed at the legacy models were automatically rerouted to the MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash alternatives.
The migration introduces several technical improvements for users. Those transitioning from the text-only MiMo-V2.5-Pro now gain access to multimodal capabilities. Additionally, users migrating to MiMo-V2.6-Flash will see their maximum completion length increase from 32,768 to 131,072 tokens, allowing for more extensive data processing in a single request.
Despite the performance improvements offered by the new series, Xiaomi confirmed that the pricing structure for the V2.6 API remains unchanged from the previous generation. This move aligns with the broader industry trend of standardizing AI services onto more capable, multimodal-ready architectures.
