Xiaomi Ends Software Support for Select Phone and Tablet Models
Xiaomi has updated its list of devices no longer receiving software support. The move affects models including the Xiaomi 12 series and Pad 6 tablets.

Chinese technology firm Xiaomi has officially ended software support for a range of its previously released smartphone and tablet models. This decision means that these devices will no longer receive software or firmware updates, including critical security patches.
The affected devices include several key product lines. Among the smartphones now discontinued from support are the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and the high-end Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Additionally, several Redmi branded devices, such as the Redmi Note 12T Pro and Redmi K60E, are included in this phase-out. Support has also ceased for the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro tablets.
For certain international markets, specific models like the POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 Pro 5G are also listed as having their software support terminated. The company may also no longer respond to vulnerability reports concerning these older devices.
This cessation of updates is a standard practice in the technology industry as devices age and new models are introduced. While it allows companies to allocate resources to newer products, it leaves users of the discontinued models potentially more vulnerable to security threats unless they upgrade to newer hardware.
