Details of potential new features for Xiaomi's forthcoming HyperOS 4 operating system have emerged online, according to reports from Chinese tech outlet IT Home. The leaked information suggests significant updates to the user interface and system capabilities.
Key features reportedly include "massive real-time light field rendering," glass-like material effects, support for large custom folders, stacked desktop widgets, and lock screen notifications. The system is also expected to incorporate an "AI color sensing and blending" UI and a "proactive AI sensing" front-end.
When questioned about potential battery drain from the AI sensing features, the source indicated that power consumption would remain low due to NPU (Neural Processing Unit) collaboration. The system is also rumored to feature a "floating island" similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, housing an AI assistant comparable to Siri.
Previous reports have suggested that HyperOS 4 will debut on Xiaomi's next foldable device, the MIX Fold 4. This model is expected to be Xiaomi's most expensive flagship to date, featuring Leica camera technology and advanced AI integrations.
