Xiaomi has introduced its latest smartphone, the 18 Pro, in China. The device is the first to feature Qualcomm's new 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, promising enhanced performance and AI capabilities.
Xiaomi has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, in China. The device starts at a price of RMB 5,999 and is the first on the market to utilize Qualcomm's sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. This processor is built on a 2-nanometer manufacturing process, delivering a peak CPU frequency of 5GHz and improved artificial intelligence performance.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro also boasts a large 7,000mAh battery and dual 200-megapixel Leica cameras. A distinctive design feature includes extremely narrow, 0.99mm bezels on all four sides and an integrated flat display on the back of the phone. This secondary screen supports AI-powered applications, offering features like timers, habit tracking, and recipe suggestions.
The release positions Xiaomi in direct competition with other manufacturers pushing the boundaries of mobile technology, particularly in chip efficiency and integrated AI functionalities. The company aims to capture the premium segment with these advanced specifications.
