Xiaomi has initiated a crowdfunding campaign for its new 4G-connected smart camera, priced at an introductory 199 yuan.

4 November 2026

Xiaomi has released the Smart Camera 3, a security camera featuring 4G connectivity, via a crowdfunding initiative in China. Designed for locations without consistent Wi-Fi access, the device allows for cellular connectivity by integrating SIM cards from multiple carriers, enabling automatic network switching to maintain a stable signal.

The camera features a 5-megapixel sensor capable of 3K resolution and an f/1.6 aperture to improve low-light performance. It includes infrared sensors for nighttime recording and AI-driven detection features for monitoring specific household activities, such as childcare or pets. Two-way audio communication is also supported.

To manage storage capacity on microSD cards, the camera employs AOR technology, which differentiates between static and active frames to optimize recording space. The device integrates into Xiaomi’s broader IoT ecosystem, allowing users to monitor feeds across smartphones, tablets, and smart televisions.
