Chinese technology firm Xiaomi has begun pre-sales for its "Mijia Washing Machine Health Wash Twin Tub 1KG" on the JD.com e-commerce platform. The product became available for pre-order on October 12 and is scheduled to start shipping on October 20. The announced price after government subsidies is 1299 yuan (approximately $178).
The washing machine is designed for space efficiency, occupying less than 0.2 square meters of floor space. It can be placed on bathroom countertops or stacked on top of a standard front-load washing machine. The unit has a total capacity of 1 kilogram, divided into two independent 0.5 kg drums. This twin-tub design utilizes separate water intake and drainage systems for each drum, allowing for distinct washing processes and improved efficiency for smaller loads.
Features include 23 different washing programs, and it has received a mother-and-baby grade washing certification. The appliance also integrates with Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem, enabling connectivity with other smart devices. For instance, it can automatically trigger a drying rack to lower upon completion of a wash cycle.
