Xiaomi Launches Indoor Camera with 4K and Full-Color Night Vision
Xiaomi has begun crowdfunding for its Mi Home Security Camera 5 Pro in China. The camera features 4K resolution, full-color night vision, and AI-powered detection capabilities.
Chinese tech company Xiaomi has launched its new indoor security camera, the Mi Home Security Camera 5 Pro, through a crowdfunding campaign on its Xiaomi Youpin platform. The device is available at a crowdfunding price of 429 yuan (approximately $59 USD) during the campaign period, which ends on September 30.
This marks Xiaomi's first indoor camera equipped with full-color night vision. It features a dual-lens system (8MP+4MP) capable of capturing 4K high-definition footage. A key feature is an integrated soft light that automatically illuminates when motion or people are detected, enabling color imaging even in low-light conditions. For clear black-and-white visuals in complete darkness, the camera also includes 940nm infrared fill lights, avoiding red glare.
The camera is powered by a 1.5T high-computing power chip, enabling sophisticated AI algorithms for scene detection. It offers local AI detection features, instantly recording and alerting users to events. The device also supports intelligent tracking of both humans and pets within its wide field of view, achieved through an upgraded gimbal structure.
Additionally, the Mi Home Security Camera 5 Pro supports gesture recognition for calls; an "OK" gesture can initiate a remote call to a linked smartphone. The camera integrates dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and offers multiple storage options, including microSD cards, cloud storage, and NAS. It also connects to Xiaomi's Mi Home ecosystem for smart home integration.
