Xiaomi launches new smart door lock with integrated peephole and auto-lock

Chinese technology company Xiaomi has introduced its new Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Edition, featuring automatic locking upon door closure and an integrated digital peephole.

9 October 2026

Chinese technology firm Xiaomi has officially listed its Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Edition for pre-sale. Following government subsidies, the lock is priced at 999.6 yuan (approximately $137 USD), a reduction from its regular price of 1176 yuan.

The new model incorporates an upgraded auto-pop bolt lock body, enabling automatic locking when the door is closed without needing to lift the handle. It also features an enhanced peephole with motion detection and recording capabilities, alongside remote unlocking options. The lock supports 11 different unlocking methods, including AI fingerprint recognition, passwords, the Mi Home app, and mechanical keys.

Security enhancements include a direct-plug C-class cylinder and a design that prevents access by removing the front panel. The device can also alert users if the door is left ajar. A built-in 3.5-inch screen inside the door allows occupants to view who is outside.

The integrated peephole camera offers a 160-degree field of view with AI-powered person detection, low-light color night vision, and cloud storage. Power is managed by a dual system of a rechargeable lithium battery and dry batteries, ensuring continuous operation, with a Type-C port for emergency power. The lock is designed to integrate with Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem.
