Xiaomi launches Smart Camera 4 Pro with integrated communication features
Xiaomi has released the Smart Camera 4 Pro, featuring 8-megapixel 4K recording and direct integration for WeChat video calls.
Xiaomi has expanded its smart home lineup with the introduction of the Smart Camera 4 Pro. The device emphasizes connectivity, offering users the ability to initiate two-way video calls via WeChat or the company's Mi Home application. A physical button on the camera is designed to simplify this process for users who may be less familiar with complex app interfaces.
Internally, the camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor capable of 4K resolution with an f/1.6 aperture lens. Its monitoring capabilities are augmented by AI, which allows for human and pet detection, virtual fencing, and unusual noise alerts. For nighttime operation, the unit employs 10 infrared illuminators, providing a night vision range of 10 meters.
Data management is handled through a choice of cloud storage, microSD card, or NAS. Security remains a focus, with the device incorporating an EAL 5+-certified security chip and a physical shutter to cover the lens when not in use. The unit supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and is compatible with the broader Xiaomi smart ecosystem.
