Xiaomi Launches Smart Door Lock 5 Max with 2K Camera, Extended Battery Life

Xiaomi has commenced pre-sales for its latest Smart Door Lock, the Model 5 Max, according to reports from IT Home. The new smart lock emphasizes a 192° wide-angle 2K camera and offers an extended battery life of up to 11 months. The product is priced at 3529 yuan, with some regions offering it for as low as 2999.65 yuan after local subsidies. The Model 5 Max is designed with an AG-processed panel and a glass door handle, aiming to complement various home aesthetics. It supports multiple unlocking methods, prominently including 3D facial recognition and palm vein identification. Facial recognition works within a range of 1.2 to 2 meters and unlocks in approximately one second. Palm vein technology allows for contactless unlocking from 10 to 20 cm, accommodating users of different heights, including children and the elderly. The door lock is equipped with a 2K camera providing a 192° view, coupled with a dynamic night vision system for clear imaging in low light. An integrated 5-inch indoor panel allows users to monitor external activity. The lock's AI capabilities can detect loitering and identify packages, enhancing security. It also includes alerts for door tampering and improper closure, with support for cross-screen interaction. Powered by two 8000 mAh batteries, the Model 5 Max boasts a standard battery life of up to 11 months. When the battery level drops below 10%, the device enters an energy-saving mode, capable of maintaining basic unlocking functions for an additional 2.5 months.
