Xiaomi Launches Wi-Fi 6 Smart Plug in Crowdfunding Campaign
Xiaomi has commenced crowdfunding for its new Wi-Fi 6 Smart Plug, offering remote control and integration with its smart home ecosystem. The device is available at a promotional price.

Xiaomi has initiated crowdfunding for its latest smart home device, the Xiaomi Smart Plug 4, on the Xiaomi Youpin platform in China. The new plug supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, promising faster and more stable remote control without the need for a separate gateway.
The Xiaomi Smart Plug 4 connects traditional home appliances to the Mi Home app, allowing users to manage devices remotely and monitor their status. The Wi-Fi 6 support, utilizing MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, aims to ensure seamless operation for multiple connected devices simultaneously.
The device integrates into Xiaomi's broader smart home ecosystem, enabling unified control through the Mi Home app and supporting custom automation routines. It also features a high-precision metering chip for monitoring electricity consumption, providing detailed daily, weekly, and monthly usage reports.
Scheduling and countdown functions operate locally, ensuring continued operation even during network outages. Users can also configure a double-tap on the plug's physical button to quickly activate a countdown timer for power cutoff. The crowdfunding campaign is set to conclude on September 16.
